Jeremy Novy

These are from Jeremy Novy. This reminds me of the subway gallery. I really like the inclusion of dog urine for the materials. The captions are great, I wonder if the years are true or just made up. I wish he had more images, and a better variey, dog urine seems to be in the majority of these.

Subway Art Gallery Opening

This must have been real fun! Improv Everywhere had created a gallery opening at the 23rd Street subway platform in Manhattan. They placed placards next to objects like electrical boxes and pipes, etc, and made them art. The gallery included a bar, a coat rack, and a cellist.

For Daniela

Hey I found this blog and thought of Daniela. It is called Abandonalia and consists of images of abandoned places in Spain. While the blog is in Spanish, the images are beautiful. Unfortunately it hasn't been updated in awhile. This really is the kind of site that I could spend hours looking at.

Yesterday

So went shooting with Montana last night and we had another adventure in Hollywood. However, there were no fighting coyotes this time, or deer, or cops. I was just happy that I got to teach Montana how to use the timer on her camera. This was a nice change as it seems Montana is always there wondering what the hell I am doing as I fumble around on Photoshop.

Judith McMillan

McMillan uses xrays to make these beautiful images of plants. They are all 8x10 contact prints of plants McMillan has gathered herself. McMillan began this type of work after photographing the research collections at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. I love the little unseen details that are highlighted in the work. It just makes you think about all of the things you cant see in all types of objects, everyday or otherwise.

Nicolai Howalt

Howalt has these cool car crash studies that center on either abstraction, airbags or interiors. I really like the abstractions because just seeing the images, I had no clue what I was seeing. You just see really beautiful lines and shadows, sometimes different colors. The images are just fascinating to look at and try to decipher.

Michael Cogliantry

Cogliantry has an interesting series Eyes of the Killer, that I like for the lighthearted mocking of slasher movies.
[killer+3.<span class=[killer+4.<span class=

He also has done a project, both video and images, referred to as either Furverts or the Furry Kama Sutra. This just flat out scares me and I have lost what little respect I had for humanity.
